I just did a set tonight without the special tool. I put the caliper back on the car WITHOUT the pads and rotor. After I wedged the caliper in place so it couldn't slide, I turned the piston with edges of my needle nose pliers while applying a decent amount of pressure. It wasn't easy but I managed to get it to go back in by hand only. Every so often it would stop so I backed it up a quarter turn and then continued turning it in (clockwise goes in). Brakes are working fine. Its like the older calipers that would kind of screw themselves back in place but you have to apply pressure too. The parking brake was off and the trans in Park. Good to know if you're in a bind but I still would prefer renting the tool if I wasn't in a hurry if only to make it easier.

Mass air flow sensors are known for causing this issue when you unplug the idle air control it just allows the computer to run on stored memory run codes. Probably mass air flow sensor is actually grounding out which would cause the windows to do that

I took the breather off and unbolted the throttle body(set it off to side with all connectors still on. Removed upper and lower hose from radiator. Then removed the shroud without having to take any other lines loose. Then unbolted the condenser from radiator and pulled the lines loose. Then that gave me room to remove the 2 bolts for the trans cooler. After that radiator pulled right out. Took 20 minutes

😎 cool. I'm not a mechanic. And never experienced taking a radiator off. I got rid of the car around 4 years ago. It had over 307,000 miles and still ran good. Now I have a 2013 3.7 AWD panoramic roof Mkz. Had it about 5 years. Cost me over $3,000.00 to replace the water pump.

was last hose difficult to put back on? Did you have to snake it back some way? I was thinking abut tying a string around the hose on the firewall to pull it through to get a way of pulling it back.

My heater wasn't working and the mechanic shop said it was the heater control valve. If I don't know what the problem is I have a shop do a free estimate and then try to fix it myself.

I've got the v8 model, changing the belt soon cuz it squeaks and for the life of me I can't wrap my head around why they would design it to go around the tensioner in that way. How does it come off? Do you slip the belt between the tensioner and the block?
